Teddy Thompson, live at the Tin Angel

It was so loud the tables were quivering; it was so loud in that small room with the tin ceiling I thought I’d never make it past the first song; but as soon as he started singing I was hooked. The Everly Brothers, Dell Shannon, Springsteen, Buddy Holly – it was back to my youth. I, who these days can’t even memorize a just-read sentence, knew all the words; sang along just like all the sad white-haired ladies in the nursing home who sleep in their wheelchairs till they start playing show tunes.

And oh what a voice he has (having Richard and Linda Thompson for parents helped a bit, but you can tell he’s worked at it).

If you Google him, Teddy Thompson girlfriend is one of the first suggestions – you can see why.
