Obama: call home!

If I were Persian I’d have the whole house all cleaned for Nowruz, and tonight at 7:21 we’d put on new clothes and have a meal with friends and family; but instead we’ll put on our old clothes and celebrate Purim with friends, glad that it’s finally spring. I did manage to remember to look at the moon last night to catch its much-touted perigee, which didn’t live up to expectations – but at least I learned a word.

I’m worried, though, that Obama’s gotten confused about which equinox it is, being down there in Brazil, and forgot to send his Nowruz message to Mahmoud (though I guess he has a bit on his mind these days).
