The Worst Decade, Part 6: The Year 2005

So here we are again: four more depressing years. They turned their backs on him during the inaugural parade, but the “liberal” mainstream media didn’t cover it. He said he’d earned political capital in the campaign, and he was going to spend it, and he told us how in the State of the Union:

  • Comprehensive health care and energy agendas
  • Tax code reform
  • Immigration reform
  • Social security reform
  • Winning the War on Terror
  • Protecting marriage and the culture of life

But then came Hurricane Katrina, and the tide began to turn.
